New Delhi: Pakistan's star all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has accused Indian media of running propaganda to malign Pakistan cricket team. The sensational statement came days after India defeated Pakistan in their ICC World Cup 2015 match at Adelaide.
The former captain said that the Indian media misquoted him following his return from the World Cup through injury. Hafeez was widely reported to have said that Pakistan coach Waqar Younis and team manager Moin Khan were sidelining veteran captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
“I have not said anything like this. This is propaganda aimed at maligning the Pakistan team,” the former captain was quoted as saying by Pakistani newspaper Dawn.
Pakistani team, players and management are united, there is not any sort of rift or politics in the dressing room,” he added.
About the accusation, the 34-year-old also said that he will report the matter to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“I will bring this to the knowledge of the Pakistan Cricket Board because this is a serious allegation.”
